Stepping into the Future

I will soon be visiting Japan and Osaka is one of the cities I look forward to seeing. Why...the robots of course!

Have you seen the most human-looking robot yet to date? Her name is Repliee Q1Expo. She can flutter her eyelids and move her hands like a human. She even appears to breathe.
Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro of Osaka University says one day robots could fool us into believing they are human.
Repliee Q1Expo is not like any robot you will have seen before, at least outside of science-fiction movies. She is designed to look human and although she can only sit at present, she has 42 actuators in her upper body, powered by a nearby air compressor, programmed to allow her to move like a human. Way cool...however are we heading towards a future like this?

LIVE LONG AND PROSPER

I am so excited about the new Star Trek Movie...will I see you at the midnight showing May 8th?
Here is a preview! One more for your viewing pleasure!

Learning 2.0
Logically, I would have to say that I love challenges, new adventures, new horizons, new worlds of learning to master! I must confess however that I have never even considered a learning toolbox. This might be a real challenge for me since the learning contract is a very foreign concept for me. I like to just jump in, figure it out and get it done. Directions, goals…I suppose they could make the process smoother but are they as fun?
